ZONE(UK) was founded in January 1994 to develop the VID Zone concept and to develop new strategies and products for interactive media. Zone has developed CD Zone for the music industry, Metro Zone - a UK listings guide sponsored by Coca-Cola, the MTV Zone - a console based version of MTV, and UnZip - the UK’s first CD Rom magazine for entertainment and music in joint venture with IPC Magazines (a subsidiary of Reed Elsevier).
Zone has been appointed by HMV to develop all the information systems for the 100 stores in the UK. In April 1995, Zone launched Web zone (http://www.vidzone.com), a unique address on the Internet that houses Metro Zone, CD Zone Direct and other infotainment services.
Zone sees this as the birth of an entertainment city in cyberspace. Long live the new architecture. Zone’s clients include HMV, Tower Records, MTV, Coca-Cola, Ministry Of Sound, IPC Magazines and all major record labels.
